Deadline FAQ
What is the Texas property tax protest deadline in 2027?
The deadline is May 15 or 30 days after your Notice of Appraised Value was delivered, whichever is later (Texas Tax Code 41.44). May 15, 2027 is a Saturday, so under Tax Code 1.06 the deadline moves to Monday, May 17, 2027.
What if I miss the deadline?
Late protests are only allowed in narrow cases, such as good cause shown before the review board approves the appraisal records, or if the district never delivered a required notice. It is much easier to be enrolled before notices go out.
Do I need to wait for my notice to sign up?
No. Signing up early means we are already authorized when your notice arrives, so nothing waits on paperwork.
